How Counselling and Psychotherapy help
Sometimes traumatic events (bearevement, divorce, illness, trauma) or accumulations of events (relationship issues, stress at work) that seem trivial one by one, leave us feeling vulnerable, depressed and full of anxiety.
Whether we have chosen them or they were imposed on us, these events are transitions that require additional resources and adaptive capacities from us. These transitions are sources of learning, but may also cause depression, anxiety and loss of self esteem.
It becomes difficult for us to cope with everyday life and the anxiety and stress generated by the expectations of those around us.
Perhaps this feeling of being depressed, anxious or stressed is new, or perhaps you have already felt it and you feel stuck in that anxiety and depression that triggers relationship issues. You seem to repeat those unhealthy patterns without being able to break the cycle of repetition and anxiety.
Therapy provides a safe, non-judgemental space where you can bring any concerns that might be troubling you. From every day life stress to trauma that hampers your ability to trust people. All types of concerns are legitimate and will be heard by me during therapy.
Therapy can offer the chance to fix your relationships issues by exploring and accepting your personal strengths and weaknesses without undue self-criticism. That self awareness that you will develop during therapy will lead to gradually increase your self confidence and lower your anxiety to establish balanced relationships and to help make the right choices for yourself, the ones that will result in long lasting positive changes to your life.
How I can support you
I provide Adult and child Counselling in Holborn
As a Psychologist and Counsellor in Holborn. I also provide therapy in French (Psychologue en Français Londres).
I am a Psychologist and Humanistic counsellor qualified both in Paris and in London.
I am BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and BPS (British Psychological Society) registered and work in accordance with their ethical framework.
Confidentiality is highly valued and guaranteed.
My support is meant to be temporary and will last as long as you need. Its main purpose is to enable you to consolidate the autonomy necessary to be the best self you can be.
I will support your ability to see your difficulties from another perspective. Seeing the same situation from another point of you will help you build a better understanding of your anxiety and depression and of the impact you have on others and the impact others have on you, which is often an important part of the problem when it comes to relationship issues. A biased or partial analysis of your difficulties can lead unhealthy patterns to crystallise and relationship issues.
My aim is to create a safe and warm environment where you would feel free to express your concerns in an authentic way. Trust between client and therapist is a necessary condition for the therapy to be effective. It is not easy to find the right therapist for you. You might find it difficult to talk to a total stranger but you will see with time that I care for your well being and that I truly believe that my support can make a positive difference in your life.
Therapy is about a supportive non judgemental relationship between client and therapist. We both share the responsibility for the success of your therapy. If we decide to work together, we shall define together the axes for which you wish to be accompanied and we shall review the outcomes of therapy on a regular basis.
